  • *Updated* – Responding to the call for debate opponents (Ben Wallis)

    * For some reason Ben has taken down his debate challenge and it is now cached here. I am not sure what this means. It read as follows:

    A call for debate opponents
I’m currently seeking opponents to defend the position that God exists in a formal Skype debate (or, if you live in far west Chicagoland, a live debate). For my own part, I am prepared to defend the alternative position that we do not know whether God exists.

I require that any opponent be at least 21 years old, and satisfy one—preferably two—of the

  • In Antithesis publication delayed

There will be an indeterminate delay in the release of issue 1 of In Antithesis. We’ll keep you posted on when we expect to release. Thank you for your understanding.…

  • An Acceptance of Paul Baird's Debate Challenge

On April 29, 2011 I linked to Sye TenBruggencate’s debates which I had not, at the time, listened to.

    Paul Baird responded:

Transcript of the Second Debate that I had with Sye Tenbruggebcate is here – http://patientandpersistent.blogspot.com/2011/03/second-debate-transcript-work-in.html

One review is here – http://deeperwaters.wordpress.com/2011/03/25/presuppositional-apologetics-on-unbelievable/

Strangely all of Syes previous supporters appear to have vanished and none have offered any congratulations on his performance.

Maybe you guys have offered support.

In response to this comment I wrote:

    Thank you for the links.

As I mentioned in the post, I have not gotten around to listening to these exchanges yet. Perhaps after I

  • I Ask Your Prayers For Our Baby

Our unborn child has been diagnosed with a very serious case of hydrops fetalis – a disorder where there is an abnormal accumulation of fluid below the baby’s skin, inside the abdomen, or other areas. Further, there is an incidence of cystic hygroma as well. What this means is that there is a extremely great chance the baby will not live to term, and if he or she does (we haven’t been able to find out as yet), there is a rather high chance that the baby will have long-term disabilities of some sort. This accumulation is not localized, but …

  • Comment Policy Change

We’ve decided to only allow registered users to post comments, from this point forward. This is more in line with the purpose of the blog – teaching and explanation of the Covenantal/Presuppositional apologetic method. For those wanting to debate; there are many topics listed on the debate page we’d be happy to address; alternatively, you can visit the chat channel.

All user registrations will need to be approved by the administrators. Valid users will be Christians interested in this apologetic method. As always, the chat channel is open, and the contact form is available for any questions or comments. …

  • Small Journal Update

Upon reflection, the editors have decided that consideration for the Journal necessitates an initial submission of an abstract and bio in the form listed on the In Antithesis page, and does not necessitate an initial 1-2 sentence contact prior. Thank you for your understanding. If we have already contacted you regarding your submission, please disregard this post.…

  • In Antithesis: An Announcement – and A Call for Papers

In a previous post, Chris announced our intention to begin an apologetics journal; this current announcement both confirms those plans, and makes a small change. The finalized name for the journal, we’ve decided, is In Antithesis: A Reformed Apologetics Journal. You can now see the link to the Journal page in the upper right navigation section. The first issue of In Antithesis is currently slated for a June release, barring providential hindrance.

Along with this announcement, we are calling for papers conforming to the specifications outlined on the Journal page. The deadline for submissions is May 31st. As …

  • Reminder and Resource

Based on some of the comments we have received lately, I feel it is necessary to remind folks that the purpose of this blog is educational, and is not intended as a forum for debate.  While we may make exceptions to this rule from time to time if we feel there is educational benefit to be seen, in general we will not allow comments through which will end up initiating a debate-through-comments.  This is one of the primary reasons we set up a chat channel, which we encourage everyone to take advantage of. We will be more than happy …
