Apologetics to the Glory of God

  • Podcasts: Fixing backlinks

Many of the podcasts we did previously still point to incorrect urls on the old domain. I’m going through a number of them and fixing incorrect references. They should all work later this am.…

  • Roundtable Discussion: The Gang’s (mostly) Back Together

A great time was had – and thanks especially to Ben Woodring, aka Book, for getting the almost whole gang back together. Brian, Chris, myself, Resequitur, and brigand all stopped in, and we talked Covenantal Apologetics. Ben asked us some basic questions, we shared some history, and what our motivations and experiences have been over the years. Looking forward to being around for a long time to come, slow posting or not. Enjoy – I sure did!

  • Do you wear clothes with mixed fabric types?

This is one of those FAQs asked to Christians who, as the bible teaches, believe that the definition of marriage only allows for a union between one man and one woman.  Christians will have to continually articulate why they believe this, especially in the current climate.

The question asked assumes a lack of coherency  in Scripture when it comes to how God’s people should live. What’s really being asked is this

“If both homosexuality and wearing clothes with mixed fabric types in the bible are condemned in the OT, why is one still wrong and not the other.”

    Now, aside …

  • Dr. Craig on the role of the Holy Spirit in unbelievers

“Here (John 16:7-11) the Holy Spirit’s ministry is threefold: he convicts the unbeliever of his own sin, of God’s righteousness, and of his condemnation before God. The unbeliever so convicted can therefore be said to know such truths as “God exists,” “I am guilty before God,” and so forth.

This is the way it has to be. For if it weren’t for the work of the Holy Spirit, no one would ever become a Christian. According to Paul, natural man left to himself does not even seek God: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands, no one seeks

  • To My Friends At Erskine

What I say does not necessarily represent Erskine. I’m speaking as a Christian who is a student  at Erskine, and is interpreting Erskine’s statement, individually.

I am aware of the variety of emotions that are being experienced due to Erskine’s statement on human sexuality. Everyone is angry. Just look at all of the capital letters and the exclamatory remarks.

Eventually I want to strictly address some of the arguments given on both sides, but for now I believe it is necessary to introduce my thoughts.

I think the more pressing issue is the emotions (or passions) that are tied up …

  • Got Worship?

If you read this site often, you’ve probably seen Romans 1:25

“because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”

You’ve probably seen the following quote from Calvin’s Institutes

The human mind, stuffed as it is with presumptuous rashness, dares to imagine a god suited to its own capacity; as it labours under dullness, nay, is sunk in the grossest ignorance, it substitutes vanity and an empty phantom in the place of God.” (Inst. I.11.8)

And last of all, you’ve probably seen one …

  • Cornelius Van Til The Covenant Apologist

“To bring out the interrelatedness of God’s revelation in Scripture with his revelation

in nature, we speak first of the necessity of natural revelation. It is customary to speak of

the necessity of supernatural revelation because of the fact that there is no revelation of

grace in nature. However, it is equally true that the revelation of grace would operate in a

vacuum if it did not operate in nature as revealing God. The supernatural can never be

recognized for what it is unless the natural is recognized for what it is: both must be

recognized in the light of …

  • Some Sales on Great Resources

    Okay,

So we happened to notice some resources that we’ve benefited from on sale, and thought we should let you know about them.

First of all, you have  “Christian Apologetics Past and Present: A Primary Source Reader”  Vol 1 and Vol 2  authored By Drs. Oliphint and Edgar for $3.99 each on Kindle. The first Volume covers apologetics from year 1 to 1500, the second volume covers from  Reformation to today. This is a very excellent work and it deals with the two millennia’s worth   of all of the leading apologists.

Another important work is “God With Us: Divine
