When an it becomes He – John 1:1 and the Iglesia Ni Cristo

I was directed the other day to a post by an Iglesia Ni Cristo apologist (hereafter INC) where he tackles John 1:1 and specifically denies that the “Word” in John 1:1 is a person. The author quotes a Greek lexicon to say logos means a concept or idea. Then proceeds to apply that to John 1:1.

Therefore, in view of the definition given above, what was with God in the beginning was His concept, a plan or an idea (logos) about the Christ who would be coming into the world.

The Elephant in the Room: Is TD Jakes a Trinitarian?

Today Dr. James White of Alpha and Omega Ministries made the clear, strong case that TD Jakes has some exceedingly serious problems with his “Trinitarian theology” (to say the least) that simply are not being addressed by those who should know to do so. Let’s talk about ignorance. The sort that makes you drop your jaw and stare. I really couldn’t care less about the opening line; it’s the things that he says are “not in the Bible” that are amazingly bad. If what he says weren’t reposted so often by atheists, it might even be hilarious; akin to Silverman’s infamous “Bear Theism” performance he gave during the closing statement of his debate with James White in August of last year.
