Apologetics to the Glory of God

Practical Atheism

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
James 1:22 (ESV)

Take the rest of the day to reflect on this verse including its apologetic import. You probably really need to.

Why do I need to reflect?

I reflected on this and other verses, and became an atheist. So reflection is good.

That really is too bad. I have been studying Scripture for many years now and as a result my faith has only deepened. Is there anything in particular about James 1.22 that should lead me to consider atheism or are you just joking?

Since self describing as an “atheist” itself is a logically unsustainable position, I dont see how reflection on this verse or any other verse in the Bible could have resulted in a conversion to atheism.
