  • “Biblical Marriage,” Chick-Fil-A, and Polyphobes

Biblical marriage is between one man and one woman. Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy recently affirmed that statement. As a Christian. In a Baptist publication.

Those who support the homosexual agenda are outraged. Apparently they were unaware that a conservative Christian like Dan Cathy would take that sort of stance. Ignorance is bliss, and in this case it comes with waffle fries. But no more. Even the Aurora shootings were not enough to stop people from whining about “homophobia” and boycotting Chick-Fil-A. Enough on that topic.

What I am more concerned about is the hateful display of polyphobia that those who …

  • Christian Books on Homosexuality

A few people asked me about books on homosexuality. Here are three that I recommend:

The classic work on this topic is The Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and Hermeneutics by Robert A.J. Gagnon.

James R. White & Jeffrey D. Niell wrote what is probably my favorite treatment of it, The Same Sex Controversy.

Finally, Homosexuality: A Biblical View by Greg L. Bahnsen is available online for free.…

  • Judges Judging Judgers

“I’m so tired of Christians judging other Christians for practicing homosexuality, just let them do what they want”, says Lucy, a professing Christian, who jut heard some of her other Christian friends talking about homosexuality in a negative overtone. Describing it as an “abomination” (Lev 18:22), “degrading” (Rom 1:26)  and “indecent” (Rom 1:27). “I hate when they speak about it like that!” whispers Lucy to another friend standing by.  Perhaps Lucy should remove the log out of her own eye before complaining about  the speck from her friends’ eye.…

  • Are bestialists being unfairly persecuted? – The Slippery Slope of Subjective "Standards"

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/timstanley/100108943/the-gay-rights-movement-has-emboldened-americas-bestiality-advocates/

“Be they right or not, a sexual act that falls so far from the standards of Western civilisation as to end with the asphyxiation of a goat should not be negotiated with. In this author’s opinion, it should lead straight to the electric chair.”

  • Miley Cyrus On LGBT

We can all feel enlightened now that Miley Cyrus has expressed her approval of “gay marriage” through her new tattoo and corresponding commentary. Alas I was troubled that I might not know what to think about homosexual marriage, but Miley came through for me and tattooed an “=” sign on her finger explaining, “ALL LOVE is equal.” This likewise is great news, as I expect a rather large check to be coming my way as a result of it. After all, if all love is equal, and Miley loves some people enough for them to reap the benefits of …

  • “Silly” Arguments

The attempts of liberals to interpret Scripture according to their own would-be autonomous categories have always struck me as exercises in futility due to the admission that they have already rejected Scripture anyway. The lengths to which people will go in an attempt to justify sin in themselves and in others are rather incredible. One can know this by taking a look at how one attempts to justify one’s own sin. [Edit: Payton Alexander has expressed to me that he does not wish to be labeled a liberal. I cannot find any place where I have given him that label.]…

  • Is Homosexuality Condemned In Genesis 19?

     Summary

The account recorded in Genesis 19 is examined in terms of the debate over whether or not the passage condemns homosexuality. It is stated that rejection of the interpretation of the passage as pertaining to the issue of homosexuality requires the provision of a superior interpretation which is still faithful to the text yet does not have anything to do with the condemnation of homosexuality. After considering a number of such alleged interpretations it is concluded that interpretations of the Genesis 19 passage wherein homosexuality is not condemned are inconsistent with the text while an interpretation of the passage …

  • Homosexuality and Imploding Hypotheticals

Thrasymachus at Urban Philosophy has written a post wherein he attempts to educate some of us on how to not be a “religious nutter” in the context of the ethics of homosexuality. He writes, “Assume God exists. Assume Christianity is true. Imagine yourself as a Christian.” Thankfully I do not have too much difficulty accepting these assumptions for the sake of argument.

Thrasymachus next writes,Say you know that there’s a mountain of evidence suggesting that homosexuality isn’t bad, yet your religious beliefs say it is bad.” Unfortunately it is impossible for me to accept the first assumption of …

  • No Excuse For Homosexuality

Someone posted a comment on my previous blog article regarding homosexuality and had his post removed because of the profane language he unwisely chose to use. Unfortunately his post was full of the kind of hatred those who approve of homosexuality are often hasty to utilize and so it was difficult to separate his alleged “argument” from attack. Though I obviously will not be reposting the comment, I would like to point out a few serious problems with what he offered in “defense” of homosexuality as indicative of the lack of an apologetic the unbelieving view of homosexuality suffers from.…
