Apologetics to the Glory of God

Everything Is Evidence

So does what happened according to this news article serve to confirm or refute the truth of Christianity?

Of course the answer is that it confirms the truth of Christianity just as any other fact does, but we do not view facts as evidence from outside of a view of the world wherein they make sense. Unbelievers will undoubtedly attempt to account for the event without having to say that it is obvious Christianity is the Truth just as they do with all other evidence. Still, this is particularly embarrassing evidence for the unbeliever to have to deal with. I doubt that I would be very offended by a follower of the great Invisible Pink Unicorn shouting from a soapbox concerning my sin of not liking cotton candy.

“I doubt that I would be very offended by a follower of the great Invisible Pink Unicorn shouting from a soapbox concerning my sin of not liking cotton candy.”

If followers of the IPU had considerable political influence, and not liking cotton candy was an essential part of who you are; and in some areas of the world people who did not like cotton candy were ostracized from their family and friends(or worse!), then I’m willing to wager that yes, you would be a bit offended.

That being said, as ridiculous as the belief that “homosexuality is wrong/immoral/sin” is, I still have to side with free speech here. This preacher should have a right to express his morally reprehensible opinion(given of course that he’s actually just preaching, and not inciting violence, as some try to do).

Outstanding post. Has CB or CH read and responded to Choi’s essay in the book Reasons?

    Mr. Robinson,

While I have not mentioned it before, I have read and reread the article many times and am in the midst of writing a response.

    Thanks for the comment!
