Apologetics to the Glory of God

  • A Thanksgiving Psalm

For the choir director; on Muth-labben. A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before You. For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously. You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever. The enemy has come to an end in perpetual …

  • Request (Updated)

My time for Choosing Hats is likely to be limited for at least a short while. The doctors think that my wife Kerri has something in her brain pressing against her optic nerve. They would like to schedule a CT scan right away. Thank you for your prayers.

*UPDATE* Kerri had an MRI which had completely normal results. These results eliminate a number of potential problems. The next step is an appointment with a more specialized doctor. Thank you again for your prayers.…

  • Introductory Level Apologetics Books

In light of the fact that Christmas is almost here and in light of the frequently asked questions I receive regarding introductory level material on covenantal apologetics I have provided a list of introductions to presuppositional apologetics. The list is by no means exhaustive. The books are listed roughly in order starting from the easiest to understand and most foundational.

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

    Every Thought Captive

    Pushing the Antithesis

    Always Ready

    The Portable Presuppositionalist

    Christian Apologetics

  • If There Were No God

    From Acapella

If there were no God there would be no music
There would be no dream to be dreaming of
What a dreadful thought of an empty future
If there were no God there would be no love

If there were no God there would be no children
There would be no joy to relieve our tears
Not a tender hand to provide us comfort
No consoling heart to subdue our fears

    CHORUS:
But we know that God is with us
    And we know His majesty
    Reigning now, the King eternal
    Yes we know the victory

    If there were …

  • Ramblings On Rolling in the Dirt for the Glory of God

I have spent many, many hours reading and studying and listening to and teaching philosophy. I do not really consider myself a philosopher, and I am not particularly good at doing philosophy, but I am interested in it and wanting to get better at it. However, I would not suggest that many others invest as much as I have in the area.

Apologetics and philosophy are distinct disciplines. It is troubling to me that many who desire to develop an apologetics ministry (and by ministry here I do not mean a blog or website or non-profit or book or …

  • Guest Post: Should we be neutral?

The following post was written by our friend defectivebit. He is a chat channel regular and helps us out by running our Facebook Page. Make sure to “Like” us on Facebook if you have not already!

Dr. Greg Bahnsen addresses the question “should we be neutral” in the first chapter of his book Pushing the Antithesis.[1] He cites several passages regarding man’s condition and mindset. Dr. Bahnsen lists Romans 1:18-21 where we see Paul describe the mindset of those upon whom God’s wrath still abides as not only not neutral but openly hostile. Paul proclaims that God gives them …

  • Wise Advice?

Some readers will recall that when I briefly interacted with a post by Brandon Adams I was quick to add that, “One of the reasons I do not tend to engage in arguments against Clarkianism is that I am rather unfamiliar with the position.” Thus far this statement unfortunately remains true as I simply have not had the time to read through Gordon Clark’s work yet. I noted that a problem I saw with the aforementioned post is that, “there is not much by way of interaction with the position Van Til and Bahnsen actually held…In fact there are no …
